Householder, Conner McMullen score second straight class wins in UNLTD season opener

Adam Householder’s dominance of the UNLTD Off-Road Racing Series’ Unlimited Truck class continued Saturday when he took the checkered flag for the 2025 Parker 400 Unlimited Race, the first of four rounds in the new UNLTD season. When all was said and done, Householder completed three laps of the 145-mile course in 6:25:44, more than 10 minutes ahead of Riviera Racing’s Mark Post and Robby Gordon.

“It’s pretty awesome to start off the beginning of the year like this,” said Householder. “To get the overall is incredible. Our team works really hard and we worked really hard in the offseason to make this truck faster, and it’s showing right now. Even with the courses getting rougher, we get faster and faster.”

The battle between the front-running Unlimited Trucks raged on all day, with Whetstone out on course first followed by Gordon and 2024 California 300 winner Eric Hardin, and no wind for racers to contend with. Though Hardin and Josh DeJong would drop out on the first lap, most of the frontrunners would at least hang on through their first lap on course.

By that time, Whetstone, Gordon, Householder, and Robert Johnston had established themselves as the four in class to beat, barring mechanicals. The biggest question of the day was if Householder’s starting spot, further down the grid than any of them, would prove insurmountable; not only would he make up the gap, he’d also be scored more than 10 minutes faster than the iconic Black Diamond #3 at the finish. Whetstone would fall just short of Post and Gordon for second, but he built an 11-minute advantage on Johnston for the last podium spot.

In the Unlimited Truck SPEC class, Conner McMullen entered the day as the favorite after scoring an upset overall win in a Class 1 car in this race last year. He qualified first in class, just three seconds ahead of Cole Hardin, and they’d finish in the same order—separated by just 70 seconds over the course of nearly seven hours. Third place finisher Travis Williams ensured that the entire class podium would be split by less than two minutes, and all three would crack the seven-hour barrier at race’s end.

“It was a good day—it just made it super interesting with all the competitors we had racing today, like (Cole) Hardin and (Travis) Williams,” said McMullen. “There were just a lot of guys today that were back and forth, and we would leapfrog all day. Lap after lap was different, times were different, people were jumping back and forth. It made it a stressful day, but it was a fun day because people were competitive. You can’t get anything more competitive than the spec truck class.”
