Family. Dirt. Speed. These three elements intertwine in the story of Nicolas Evans, a rising star in the Pro Stock UTV class of the Unlimited Off-Road Racing Series.

This 25-year-old Oklahoman-turned-Californian-turned-Tennessean brings a unique blend of mechanical know-how and down-home values to the unforgiving world of desert racing.

Evans' passion for off-roading sprouted early, with childhood memories of tearing around on a Yamaha PW-50. Weekends weren't spent glued to screens; instead, they were filled with dusty adventures alongside his family, forging a connection with the outdoors that would shape his future. This love for the sport wasn't just recreational – it intertwined with his natural engineering aptitude. Nicolas sees the challenges of off-roading not just as physical hurdles, but as puzzles waiting to be solved with a wrench in hand.

While his racing experience is relatively new (with a single enduro race under his belt), Evans' competitive spirit burns bright. A trip to the Vegas-to-Reno race ignited a fire, and with his father as his trusted co-driver, Evans embarked on a journey to conquer the desert. What sets Nicolas apart is his genuine appreciation for the racing community. He doesn't idolize individuals, but rather values the camaraderie and shared passion amongst fellow competitors. His pre-race rituals are refreshingly low-key – a focus on fueling his body for peak performance, with music taking a backseat to laser focus.

Evans' training is a well-balanced affair. He prioritizes physical fitness to handle the rigors of off-road racing, but also recognizes the importance of honing his technique and maintaining a clean diet. This holistic approach undoubtedly played a role in his biggest triumph yet – winning the Pro Stock UTV class at the legendary Mint 400 in his very first attempt!

This holistic approach undoubtedly played a role in his biggest triumph yet – winning the Pro Stock UTV class at the legendary Mint 400 in his very first attempt!

Evans' goals are refreshingly attainable. He aspires for consistent podium finishes in the Unlimited Off-Road Racing Series (UORS), and his plan is straightforward: maintain a steady pace, gradually push his comfort zone, and continuously improve his vehicle. It's a testament to his engineering mind – a calculated approach combined with a genuine love for the sport.

When the desert throws its worst at him, Nicolas finds motivation in the sheer commitment he's made. All the time, effort, and resources invested in his racing dream fuel his determination. This dedication kept him calm even on the nerve-wracking starting line of the Mint 400. But Evans' triumph at the Mint 400 wasn't just a personal victory; it was a testament to his family's unwavering support. With his family by his side, his engineering skills at the ready, and the lessons learned from his Mint 400 victory, Evans is poised to carve a name for himself in the UORS.

His next challenge? The California 300!
