CENTERVILLE, UT. (Feb 10 2021)— Tread Lightly!, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting responsible motorized recreation through education and stewardship programs, received the 2020 Land Use donation from the Off-Road Motorsport Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), an organization established to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations whose lifelong contributions to off-road motorsports have set a standard for others to follow.

Each year, ORMHOF donates funding to land use organizations that are dedicated to maintaining trail use and keeping off-road trail acces open. Past recipients include the Red Rock Four Wheelers MUD fund, Friends of Oceano Dunes, the California Offroad Vehicle Association and the Blue Ribbon Coalition.

“We are proud to support Tread Lightly! with our annual land use donation,” said Mark McMillin, ORMHOF Chairman. “The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame knows the value in responsible trail use. Without open trails, the off-roading community cannot thrive. We are excited to support Tread Lightly! as they continue to work to keep trails open and accessible.”

The check was presented to Matt Caldwell, Tread Lightly!’s Executive Director, by ORMHOF board member Josh Hall, during the 2021 King of the Hammers event where Tread Lightly! and volunteers cleaned up 1.5 tons of trash during the event.

“Thank you to the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame for their continued support of landuse and for supporting Tread Lightly!’s mission to maintain access to off-road trails,” Caldwell said. “We all play a part in keeping these trails open. When off-road trails close, we all lose.”
