JAY, OKLAHOMA – Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (Toyo Tires®) and CJ Greaves put an exclamation point on the 2023 Championship Off-Road (COR) series season this weekend, taking home a win in the final race and the COR Pro-4 Championship. Saturday’s victory at the MidAmerica Outdoors Off-Road National racetrack in Jay, Oklahoma was Greaves’ seventh win on the season, boosting his overall championship point total to 596. Cementing himself on top of the podium, Greaves is now an eight-time Pro-4 Champion.
Greaves’ drove his #22 Monster Energy/Toyota/Toyo Tires Pro-4 truck to victory Saturday, finishing the season strong after starting his campaign with a sweep in the series opener in Antigo, Wisconsin this June. This marks the second race in a row where Greaves has driven on Toyo Tires' Open Country® R/T Trail tires, introduced in October 2022. With heavy rain and unideal weather conditions canceling Sunday’s race, Greaves’ hard fought win Saturday proved to be the finale.
“It has been a crazy year and Toyo Tires gave us everything we needed to make this possible,” said CJ Greaves. “I’m honored to have Toyo on board for the eighth championship, more to go!”
“Witnessing CJ win the Pro-4 championship in his first season with Team Toyo was incredible,” said Stan Chen, sr. manager, events, sponsorships and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “After starting the COR series so strong with a sweep on the opening weekend, it was only fitting that CJ win the final race on Saturday to cap off a dominating and successful season.”
In addition to CJ Greaves latest Pro-4 Championship (2023), this also marks Toyo Tires’ 8th Pro-4 Championship in short course racing for Team Toyo, which includes Kyle LeDuc, another seven-time Pro-4 Champion (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, & 2020). Team Toyo drivers have also achieved success in off-road desert racing while using Toyo Open Country tires including: Bryce Menzies winner at SCORE Baja 400 (2021, 2022 & 2023), SCORE Baja 500 (2023), SCORE San Felipe 250 (2021), Toyo Tires® Desert Challenge at King of the Hammers (2020 & 2021), and Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno (2019 & 2020); Alan Ampudia winner at SCORE Baja 1000 (2019); and Tavo Vildosóla winner at SCORE Baja 500 (2016).
