Toyota has been the best selling mid size truck in America the last 15 years. You can definitely chalk that up to dependability, resale value, and quality. With the all new 2021 special editions revealed, it looks like they are looking to remain the champion best sellers they strive for.
Inspired by Toyota’s long championship history in off-road racing, the third generation continues with the aggressive styling and durability. It’s the “Work Hard, Play Hard” montra they have been known for. The 2021 model is perfect for an everyday work truck, while perfect for off-road capabilities, with 33 different configurations the consumer will undoubtedly find the right truck that fits their lifestyle.
Many luxuries that were previously upgraded options are now standard in the V6 models, like dual AC climate control and upgraded audio packages. The TRD Sport and off-road packages even include a high end first-aid kit. Every single Tacoma model comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P), which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams.
New “Cosmic Colors”
The 2021 launch welcomes many more colors for the consumer to choose from. Replacing the previous Army green, will be the all new “Lunar Rock” option. Customers choosing the TRD Pro will also be able to enjoy: Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic.
2021 Trail Special Edition: Bring it In - Bring it Out…. with a little flair
It’s no secret that many that purchase Toyota Trucks, or SUVs are those who enjoy a little adventure and outdoor activity like: Camping, fishing, hiking, and anything that involves a little fresh air. For those adventure types Toyota has now offered the “Trail Special Edition”. The Trail special Edition features a 120-volt power outlet in the bed, and lockable bed storage includes insulation, and a drain plug on the driver side to double as a cooler. Yes a built in cooler, which will definitely help in the packing process. The interior offers full weatherproof floor liners. Black seating with tan stitching also offers an outdoor look. All of this while sitting on Kevlar all-terrain tires and dark gray 16” TRD Off-Road wheels.
2021 Tacoma Nightshade Edition: No reason to be afraid of the dark
As the year rolls on through summer, the days begin to get a bit shorter and with the sunsetting - the Toyota Nightshade Edition arrives. The package offers an interior with black leather trim, and a dark “Slightly Sinister” exterior trim, as Toyota described it. Dark Smoke 18” alloy wheels, black exhaust tip and fog light bezels and a new darkened-chrome grille insert top off the aggressive looking truck. The Nightshade Edition will be offered in 2WD or 4WD and will look particularly wicked in Midnight Black Metallic or Magnetic Gray Metallic. For more customization, the Special Edition will also be available in Windchill Pearl for an added cost.
