August 9, 2022 (Reno, NV) – Longtime partner Mapbox announced their support for the 2022 Rebelle Rally as a Gold Partner and official mapping partner. The technology company delivers a mapping and real-time location intelligence platform that powers many of the world’s best known brands and apps. Mapbox is also known by the Rebelle for its excellent team that shares the same values and enthusiasm for adventure, automotive, navigation, and the excitement of bringing it all together.
“We only stand behind products and companies we truly believe in. Since the start of our partnership in 2018, Mapbox has guided us through our outdoor adventures,” said Emily Miller, Founder of the Rebelle Rally. “From embedded navigation systems in vehicles we drive everyday, to backcountry-friendly apps, Mapbox is our go-to recommendation for a digital mapping and location services partner. We’re excited to welcome them back to the Rebelle start line.”
The ultimate challenge of precision driving and navigation, the Rebelle Rally tests skills over eight days of competition. This year, Mapbox will be the location backbone of some of the most vital technology for the rally – from the 3D mapping from navigation app onX Offroad and the basemap for the live-tracking to daily fly-through visualizations of each stage of the course. The Rebelle Rally uses the Mapbox platform to power its specialty vehicle testing system that provides manufacturers the ability to monitor internal and external vehicle data from afar, transmitted by Iridium. Mapbox also powers an interactive map that showcases the network of Rebelle competitors across the globe, and is a supplier to several exciting vehicles entered into this year's competition.
“Mapbox is proud to continue our close relationship with the Rebelle Rally. This premier event brings together an inspiring group of adventurers and industry-leading vehicles to tackle some of the most extreme off-road terrain,” said Peter Sirota, CEO of Mapbox. “From powering the in-vehicle navigation systems that get Rebelle teams to the start line and home again, to underpinning the apps used by the Rebelle crew to keep teams safe, to producing visualizations that transport spectators through the epic and challenging course, Mapbox will be there for all the competitors – both on and off the road.”
