Important Dates and Information for the Upcoming VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 8, 2020): Best In The Desert staff, sponsors, racers, and fans are waiting in anticipation for the upcoming VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR on the weekend of June 25 through June 27, 2020, in Alamo, Nevada.
The announcement to move ahead with the 300-mile point-to-point race has led to extensive planning and preparation behind the scenes as it looks like there will be a great racer turn-out. This includes mitigation protocol and health safety efforts in response to COVID-19. Important information and dates for racers include:
Wednesday, June 10, 2020: Start Position Drawing
Racers must send entries prior to June 10, 2020, to be eligible for the start position drawing.
Thursday, June 18, 2020: Contingency Forms Due
Contingency forms will be sent out to driver of record through email and are posted on the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR event page. Decals will be provided in the final registration packet.
Thursday, June 25, 2020: Time Trials for 6100, 1500, and Trick Truck Classes
Time Trials include complete full tech inspection so racers who attend Time Trials will not be required to attend the Tech and Event Expo.
Friday, June 26, 2020: Mandatory Driver’s Meeting
The Driver’s Meeting will be pre-recorded and posted to the Best In The Desert Instagram and Facebookpages in the morning. Racers can comment with questions and concerns and Best In The Desert will respond as soon as possible via social media platforms.
Friday, June 26, 2020: Registration
Registration to pick up armbands (only those needing armbands should attend to adhere to social distancing recommendations; parents can accompany minors; please bring your own pen to sign documents)
Each vehicle class will be assigned a separate time:
- 8 – 9 a.m.: Classes 1000, 1100, 1200, 2000, 3000, 4400, 7300
- 9 – 10 a.m.: UTV Production
- 11 a.m. -12 p.m (noon).: UTV Turbo
- 12 p.m (noon) – 1 p.m.: Classes 5000, 6000, 6200, 7200, 8000, 8100
- 1 – 2 p.m.: Jeepspeeds (all), UTV Unlimited, UTV Sportsman
- 2 – 4 p.m.: All motorcycles and quads, any teams that missed their scheduled time
If a racer is unable to attend with the rest of their team, they can pick up their armband at any time. Best In The Desert asks that racers adhere to their registration times in order to keep the number of people congregating as low as possible. Furthermore, pit crew armbands can be picked up without coming inside if arranged at Tech.
Friday, June 26, 2020: Tech and Event Expo
Arm-banded racer with pre-sterilized helmet and suit must accompany their vehicle.
Display and vendor stands at the Event Expo will be operated in accordance with local health standards which include a limited number of participants, hand sanitizer at every display, and social distancing space between stands. Promotional activities including autograph signing, kids activities, large ceremonies, or group presentations will not be allowed.
Tech will feature three lines to be divided by Cars/Trucks, UTVs, and Motorcycles/Quads which will merge at the exit for a transponder check at the timing trailer.
All Cars, Trucks, and UTVs will trailer through the Event Expo unless they are in enclosed trailers. In that case, they will need to offload and drive through Tech in assigned lines. All Motorcycles and Quads will drive through the Tech and Event Expo in their support trucks unless they are in enclosed trailers which will need to be offloaded to also go through assigned lines (same lines as support vehicles).
Saturday, June 27, 2020: Award presentation at the finish line
Racers are asked to bring a very small crew.
Best In The Desert Guidelines
Best In The Desert reminds all fans, racers, and sponsors to stay home if experiencing any symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, or fatigue. Other COVID-19 precautions include the following event protocol:
- Wear a face mask on-site at all times
- Practice social distancing by staying six feet apart
- Use hand sanitizer and wash hands often
- Park more than 10 feet away from neighbors
- Please stay home and consider attending a future event if you are considered at high risk
- Please remain in pit area when not racing
- Refrain from wandering or visiting neighbors
- Leave no trace and pack out trash
- Avoid touching the face
Future events will be contingent on how closely attendees follow these health and safety measures. Please help keep the Best In The Desert 2020 racing series safe and successful!
Hotel Guidelines
Boulder Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will be the host hotel for VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR. In order to adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) national guidelines, every guest who enters the hotel and casino will be thermally scanned. Guests who have a temperature exceeding 100.3 degrees Fahrenheit will need to be rescanned after five to eight minutes.
Guests will also be asked to wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines of six feet. Best In The Desert kindly asks fans and racers to be respectful to hotel staff and security as everyone moves ahead with the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR.

Everyone is excited for the next Best In The Desert race but in order for it to be successful, everyone must be informed, cooperative, and on the same page. Please follow advice, adhere to vehicle class assignment, and sterilize suits and helmets in order to protect your team and the Best In The Desert team.

We are very excited to see our racing family and friends again and kindly ask that we all do our part to follow the guidelines mentioned above so that we can have a safe event for everyone involved and continue to build on the Legacy our founder and friend Casey Folks established.”
The VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR will be a 300-mile point-to-point race starting just north of Alamo, Nevada, and is open to Motorcycles, Quads, Cars, Trucks, and UTVs.
