FORD BRONCO RESURRECTED
Well it took 24 years, but the Bucking Bronco is back! After nearly breaking the internet and all off-road forums, we finally got to see an in depth look at the all new 2021 Ford Bronco. An automobile with such deep roots within offroad racing across Baja, to the famous Mint 400 in Las Vegas, the 2021 Ford Bronco sure has some huge shoes to fill.
Right off the bat we see minor styling from the original first generation design with added 2021 flair and comfort, and it all doesn't look too bad at all.
"Our customers were looking for something rugged, they were looking for a vehicle that they could work on the ranch with — but would also take them to a trout stream or to a trailhead," Joy Falotico, chief marketing officer at Ford Motor Co., "The Project name was 'GOAT' — for 'goes over any terrain.'"
I think that’s exactly what was delivered. It will be available in a 2-door and 4-door model, including a sport model, and comes with various trim packages throughout the models as well.
Ford’s top brass seemed to have their resurrected SUV and marketed it as a direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, though priced slightly above. It’s clear that Jeep might be a little concerned as well, by announcing their new Wrangler’s will include the Hemi engine. This announcement came on the very same day as the Bronco launch, but didnt get quite the internet attention as the Bronco did.
It will be exciting to see what the new Bronco will do as far as sales and trail testing. Right now the internet is still buzzing, some good, some bad. Naturally there are those that constantly look for a negative thing to say, (perhaps out of jealousy), but the current negative consensus is the IFS (Independent Front Suspension), and lack of motor. A V8 option is not available. Ford is very proud of their EcoBoost technology, and while it truly is a fantastic and powerful motor, many enthusiast’s and purists would still like that option to run 8 cylinders, but they have also never driven a twin turbo Bronco either. So it should be interesting. It would be interesting if these two concerns might be addressed in the future. One thing to remember when the Jeep JK was introduced in 2006, there was major concern by puresits about the electronic features like windows and door locks, but as we all know there are more jeeps on the road now than there ever was. It was clear people got over their concerns quickly.
With the amount of aftermarket companies throughout the world, it won’t take long before we start seeing some incredible builds hitting the internet, and the trails. Whether you’re a fan of the new model or not, this is indeed an exciting time for car enthusiasts young and old.
