Kyle LeDuc, Johnny Greaves finish second and third
The Monster Energy-backed trio of CJ Greaves, Kyle LeDuc, and Johnny Greaves swept Sunday’s Forest County Potawatomi Community Cup race at Crandon International Raceway, the final race of the 29
th Annual Crandon Brush Run. The annual showdown of Pro 4s against Pro 2s capped off a busy weekend for the racers, who also took part in Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2022 Championship Off-Road season as part of the event.
CJ Greaves had the busiest schedule of the group, as he chases championships in Pro 4 and both the Pro Turbo and Pro Stock SXS titles. He’d earn podium finishes in all three divisions, taking a pair of second place results with his all-new Polaris RZRs in the two side-by-side classes on Saturday before winning both the Pro 4 race and Community Cup event on Sunday. It was Greaves’ first Community Cup win after three previous World Cup victories on Labor Day weekend.
LeDuc’s runner-up finish in the Community Cup was redemption for a pair of Pro 4 race results that didn’t reflect his pace; a pair of spins, including one from second place with two laps remaining on Saturday, showed that he had the capability to get back on top of the box. Johnny Greaves would kick off the weekend with a second place finish in Pro 4 before closing off the weekend with his Community Cup podium.
After Crandon, all three drivers are firmly within the top five in points in their respective divisions. On the strength of three race wins to start the year, CJ Greaves leads Kyle LeDuc by 18 points and Johnny Greaves by 29 in Pro 4 through the first four rounds. He’s also second in Pro Stock SXS points with three runner-up finishes in the first four events and fifth in the Pro Turbo division thanks to a pair of top-fives over the weekend.
The Championship Off-Road season continues on Friday and Saturday, July 15-16, with a return to ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota. LeDuc and CJ Greaves split the Pro 4 victories at ERX last season, and Greaves also posted a 1-2 weekend in Pro Stock SXS at the track last July.
