Barrett Howarth Earns 2021 UTV World Championship Desert Rally Victory

Barrett Howarth wrapped up Friday’s race action in the 2021 UTV World Championship presented by Polaris with an unofficial victory in the afternoon’s Desert UTV Rally, Sportsman, and RS1 race. Howarth finished four laps of the 28.6-mile desert course in 3:19:19.841 in the afternoon race, giving him the victory by just 7.795 seconds over second place Shamous Smith—the closest margin of victory throughout a full day of racing. n Colton Gubler completed the podium, a minute and 20 seconds behind Smith for second place, while Justin Smith and Nick Campbell completed the top five. More than half of the field managed to complete all four laps in the allotted five-hour time window. We can’t wait for tomorrow’s Pro races and to kick off 10 full hours of live streaming coverage of all the action tomorrow morning!” The UTV World Championship culminates on Saturday with another full day of racing for the Pro classes. The Desert Pro NA and Unlimited divisions kick off the proceedings at 7:30AM, before the premier Desert Pro Turbo class concludes the festivities starting at 2PM.
